18th November 2006 is when it came into my dull life
And lit it up!! =D

It was a tough decision OK
Since before this I knew absolutely nothing about LCDs
VGA wat??? DVI huh?? response time??? O_o
And there were all these suggestions from so many people
Not to forget the fickle mind of mine

1st it was a decision between a LCD-TV and a LCD
Then it was the size (19? 20? 24? 26?)
Then it was the model!!

I wanted so badly the Sony Bravia 20S2020
My room is too small for a conventional tube TV
Thought can hit 2 birds with 1 stone
But bro said not a good idea as it'd be blur when you connect it to the com

After much research online and *erhmm* consulting the dad & bro
I had a choice between Samsung Syncmaster 205BW, LG L204WT and Viewsonic VX2025WM

Dad says get Viewsonic!
Bro said Samsung is great
The web reviews said Samsung&LG both "phak beh toh"

Viewsonic was expensive, so I ditched it
Samsung had a really cool adjustable stand
LG was just simple and the cheapest of the lot

And oh yeah the new Genius wireless keyboard and mouse too =D
I didn't quite like the keyboard
It types too LOUDLY!
I only realised after buying it back
The noise gets quite loud and irritating in a quiet room with a sleeping roomie you know!

You see what happens when I "simply pick one" now??!!!
*targeted to u know who...=P*

I complain cos I care
And bcos I'm a good roomie =P

I want to change my wallpaper but my roomie does not
Wat to dooooo....=(

Oh yeah at 1st dad even suggested he ship bro's Dell 2407WF for me
Then my bro gets to buy a new 1!!
Second hand goods AGAIN
See very unfair....=(

But at last found out the shipping will take like 2 months and unsafe
And by air it'll cost more than RM1k
*relief!*

But I actually love the Dell
I'd get it if it was available here, which sadly is not
That's like my Number 1 choice

Ok and the reason I got 20" instead of 24" was bcos...
Well you guys should know Moscow is now ranked the world's most expensive city
Now the price difference btw a 20" and a 24" LCD was 10k rubles!~!
Madness right?

My LG costs only 11550ru. I could have bought 2 20" instead of 1 24"
Get it?

And also as you can see from the picture, Im barely 50cm away from the screen
The 24" will probly require me to turn my head when I look at the screen from 1 side to the other

In the end it leaves me with a choice of Samsung n LG
Went back to the shop to look at both models again
And decided that I'm not going to pay 1000ru more just for an adjustable stand
Since I don't think I will need it as much
And I felt that the Samsung screen is way too FAT from the side bcos of that adjustable stand

So...12730 rubles spent
But a very satisfied YL is made =P


P/S: Now all I need is a set of speakers! *wink*
